Livestream Intern | Jam in the Van
The Tone:
This is an internship at Jam in the Van, located in Los Angeles, CA for the FALL 2026 semester. Jam in the Van operates as a mobile solar-powered record studio, a unique venue, and a YouTube Channel dedicated to music discovery. This role is crucial for running the company’s daily livestream music discovery programming, helping to spotlight new indie music and engage with a live audience in real time. Interns will operate their own livestream channel, similar to hosting a college radio show, providing a platform for emerging artists.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Host: Conduct daily livestream shifts, rotating with other interns to maintain consistent programming.
• Discover: Actively research and present new indie music artists to a live audience during your streams.
• Engage: Interact with viewers in the live chat, fostering a community around music discovery.
• Produce: Assist with the technical aspects of livestream production, ensuring smooth broadcast operations.
• Create: Develop one to two pieces of social content per shift for platforms like TikTok, Instagram Reels, or YouTube Shorts, highlighting music featured on your stream.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level. Current students or recent graduates with an interest in live music production, livestreaming, and digital media are encouraged to apply.
• Experience: Basic familiarity with video, audio, or streaming platforms (e.g., YouTube, OBS, switchers) and comfort working with equipment under guidance.
• Skills: Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to manage multiple tasks, effective communication, and a professional, inclusive approach when collaborating with artists and team members.
• Bonus: Prior experience in music, media, or production environments is a plus.
