The Tone:
This is a full-time role at EAE USA, an organization focused on manufacturing within the electrical equipment or engineered-to-order sectors. The Cost Accountant Specialist is crucial for maintaining cost visibility and ensuring accurate financial reporting across inventory, standard costing, project tracking, and manufacturing operations within our SAP environment. This role is essential for partnering with various departments to support financial accuracy and operational efficiency.

• Mission: Responsible for inventory accounting, standard costing, project cost tracking, and manufacturing financial reporting to ensure cost visibility and accurate financial outcomes.
• Tech Stack: SAP, Microsoft Excel (PivotTables, lookups, financial analysis)

What You’ll Actually Do
• Cost Accounting: Maintain and update standard costs for materials, labor, and overhead, perform monthly cost variance analysis, and manage SAP costing master data including BOMs and routings.
• Inventory Management: Support accurate inventory accounting by assisting with monthly reconciliations, investigating variances, supporting physical inventories, and reviewing scrap, rework, freight, and tariff allocations.
• Project Cost Analysis: Track project costs including materials, labor, and subcontractor expenses, monitor project budgets against actuals, and prepare project profitability and gross margin reports.
• Financial Reporting: Prepare COGS and gross margin reporting by product line and project, support month-end and year-end close activities, and assist with budgets, forecasts, and manufacturing cost planning.
• Process Improvement: Identify and help implement process improvements to strengthen internal controls while supporting audit requests and documentation.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field, coupled with 3–5 years of dedicated cost accounting experience.
• Experience: Proven experience with ERP systems, preferably SAP, specifically in a manufacturing or project-based environment.
• Skills: Working knowledge of standard costing, inventory accounting, job costing, variance analysis, US GAAP, inventory valuation, project accounting principles, and strong Microsoft Excel skills.
• Bonus: Experience in electrical equipment, manufacturing, or engineered-to-order environments; exposure to long-term projects, profitability reporting, and revenue recognition concepts; experience with multi-entity operations and intercompany transactions; and working collaboratively with Operations, Engineering, and Project Management teams.
