Job Summary: Corporate Wellness Intern

Exos is excited to offer a learning-intensive, 12-16 week internship program for high-performing individuals. This program is designed to provide comprehensive experience in a highly skilled corporate wellness environment.

The internship will be onsite with a specific Exos client in San Diego, CA, and requires a commitment of a minimum of 20 hours per week. As a Corporate Wellness Intern, you will gain invaluable knowledge and practical experience, including the opportunity to coach individuals and groups across all fitness levels. Exos is dedicated to providing interns with valuable education and experiences to help advance their careers post-graduation.

As a Corporate Wellness Intern You Will:

  • Learn from Best-in-Class Professionals: Develop and refine your coaching skills under the guidance of top human performance experts.
  • Shadow, Observe, and Participate in Corporate Wellness Services: Gain hands-on experience in various aspects of corporate wellness, including:
    • Conducting fitness tests and evaluations.
    • Assisting in the planning and implementation of health promotion and incentive programs.
    • Providing safe and effective exercise programs and group exercise sessions.
    • Gaining exposure to high-risk member management.
    • Experiencing injury prevention and on-site rehabilitation (site-dependent).
  • Develop an In-Depth Understanding of the Exos Methodology: This will be achieved through:
    • Weekly educational sessions, including lectures, presentations, and practicums.
    • Practical training on how to develop linear and multi-directional movement skills, applications, and program designs.
    • Self-paced learning modules.
  • Opportunity to Earn Certification: Have the chance to earn the Exos Fitness Specialist Certification (XFS).

Internship Requirements:

  • Academic Enrollment: Must be currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s program studying exercise science, kinesiology, physical education, or a related field.
  • Course Credit: Must be in a program that accepts course credit in exchange for an internship experience, as this is an unpaid internship.
  • Passion for Wellness: Possess a strong passion for working with active and athletic populations.
  • Certifications: Hold current CPR/AED and First Aid certifications. (Students not currently certified may seek certification during the application process).

Internship Logistics:

If selected for this internship experience, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Housing: Finding, securing, and funding your own housing for the duration of the internship.
  • Travel: Booking and funding your travel and relocation to San Diego, CA, prior to the start date.
  • Daily Expenses: Funding all food and transportation costs for the duration of your internship.
  • Academic Confirmation: Confirming course credit through your school advisor.
