Job Description: Corporate Tax Intern / Trainee

This part-time internship opportunity within PwC’s Corporate Tax services offers you a chance to work alongside a team of experienced professionals, gaining valuable experience in the field. You will be involved in:

Advising clients on their local and overseas tax affairs: This includes helping businesses understand tax regulations, strategizing tax planning, and ensuring compliance with tax laws.
Acting as a strategic consultant: You will play a role in business analysis, managing working capital, and profit sharing for partners.
Understanding the pricing implications of goods and services between related parties: This involves providing guidance on transfer pricing, a crucial aspect of international tax compliance.
Providing advice on the tax implications of deals: You will assist clients in understanding the tax implications of mergers, acquisitions, and other business transactions.

The internship specifically focuses on helping businesses with:

Tax strategy: Developing tax plans that align with business goals and minimize tax liabilities.
Ensuring tax compliance: Making sure clients follow all relevant tax regulations and file necessary paperwork correctly.
Increasing post-tax profits: Identifying opportunities to optimize tax strategies and maximize profit after tax obligations are met.
Providing application support: Implementing and managing software and tools related to tax compliance and reporting.

As an Intern/Trainee, you will:

This role is part-time and requires a minimum of 28 hours per week from early January through mid-April.

Job Requirements and Preferences:

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree: Required in Accounting
GPA: Minimum 3.0
Experience: 0 years

Preferred Qualifications:

Client service intern positions are typically filled by students in their 3rd year of a 4-year degree program or their 4th year of a 5-year program.
Interns typically join during the winter/spring or summer prior to their intended graduation year.
Certification(s): Before joining PwC full-time, candidates are expected to meet all educational requirements necessary for the appropriate professional credential (e.g., CPA license).
Demonstrated skills and experience in:
• Researching and analyzing tax laws, rules, and regulations
• Interacting with various levels of client and firm management
• Demonstrating self-motivation and a commitment to personal and career growth
• Researching business and industry trends to develop a point of view
• Working with automation & digitization in a professional services environment
• Innovating through new and existing technologies and experimenting with digitization solutions
• Working with large, complex data sets and utilizing data visualization tools.
