Corporate Tax Intern | EQT Corporation

The Tone:
This is a 12-week paid internship at EQT Corporation, offering a real-world experience to help shape the company’s future. Interns will learn and grow as part of the “Qrew”, focusing on innovation and powering the future. The role provides hands-on experience within the tax function of a large public company, offering exposure to the interaction among tax, accounting, finance, legal, operations, and other areas of the business. Interns will see how their work influences critical business decisions and drives value across operations.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Tax Return Preparation: Gather data and prepare workpapers for federal and state income tax returns, including corporate and partnership filings.
• Tax Provision Support: Assist in preparing schedules that feed into the quarterly and annual income tax provision, specifically focusing on book-tax differences.
• Fixed Asset Management: Update depreciation schedules, reconcile fixed asset additions and disposals, and correctly tag assets according to proper tax lives.
• Process Improvement: Research various tax issues and help identify opportunities to improve and automate recurring tax processes within the department.
• Financial Data Analysis: Gather and analyze financial data to support tax compliance and reporting processes across federal, state, and local levels.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting, finance, taxation, business, data analytics, or a related field, with completion of introductory accounting coursework.
• Experience: This is an internship role, suitable for those with foundational knowledge in accounting and a willingness to learn within a corporate tax function.
• Skills: Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills; Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications; Strong written and verbal communication skills; Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines; Attention to detail.
• Bonus: Prior tax coursework.
