Corporate Finance Summer Associate | BRG

The Tone:
This is an internship at BRG, located in Chicago, IL. This Corporate Finance Summer Associate role is a temporary, entry-level position within the firm’s consulting/analyst staff. You will immerse yourself in a team environment, supporting engagements focused on companies either underperforming or undergoing significant transitions, with the goal of maximizing value for all stakeholders. Your contributions will be vital in assisting clients with turnaround & restructuring, performance improvement, and finance excellence initiatives.

• Mission: Support client service teams in advising companies facing financial distress or undergoing significant transitions to maximize value for all stakeholders.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Modeling: Develop critical financial models, including 13-week cash flow models, full 3-statement models (Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow Statement), and pro-forma scenario models to assess future financial outcomes and support client strategies.
• Client Deliverables: Assist in the comprehensive preparation of various client deliverables such as detailed reports, financial analyses, and professional presentations that communicate key insights and recommendations.
• Engagement Support: Execute diverse tasks across consulting engagements, applying business, finance, accounting, and analytical skills to address challenges faced by clients in turnaround & restructuring, performance improvement, and finance excellence.
• Team Collaboration: Work effectively within a team environment, collaborating with BRG experts, professionals from other firms, and client contacts to ensure successful achievement of engagement objectives.
• Practice Development: Contribute to the growth of an entrepreneurial consulting practice by assisting with marketing efforts, preparing for client pitches, and supporting product and practice area development initiatives.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Early career. Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Business, Accounting/Finance, Management, Engineering, Economics, Math, or a related field, with an expected graduation date between December 2026 and August 2027.
• Experience: No specific years of prior experience required for this temporary entry-level role; however, candidates must possess a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5.
• Skills: Strong problem-solving and project management skills; excellent written and oral communication abilities; and a demonstrated capacity to interact professionally with team members, senior management, and other stakeholders.
• Bonus: Exhibit a mature presence, empathy, intellectual curiosity, and the ability to learn new concepts quickly in a consulting environment.
