Job Description: Corporate Finance Intern

This internship reports to the Director of FP&A. The role involves collaborating with functional leaders across the company to assess progress toward Steel Partners’ strategic and financial objectives. Responsibilities include:

Financial Analysis: Preparing financial analyses for senior leadership to illuminate opportunities and risks related to financial targets.
Data Visualization: Creating data visualizations in Tableau to provide actionable insights for leadership.
Ad-hoc Projects: Undertaking short-term projects such as model improvement, cost savings analysis, hiring plan reporting, and competitor analyses.
Departmental Duties: Performing duties and responsibilities specific to the department’s functions and activities.
Operating Company Projects: Working on projects for a specific Operating Company, depending on needs and availability.

Requirements:

• Currently pursuing a degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Strong interpersonal skills to effectively interact with diverse personalities.
• A dynamic and outgoing personality with a positive attitude and commitment to providing excellent support.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills across all departments and levels, both internally and externally.
• Ability to work with a sense of urgency and a results-oriented approach.
• High level of self-motivation, persistence, dependability, and independence.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, juggling multiple tasks and demands effectively.
• Proficiency in computer software applications including Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
