• Mission: This person supports strategic decision-making and corporate development initiatives like mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and capital raising to drive business growth.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Analyze market trends and competitive landscapes to assess external factors affecting the business, identifying potential acquisition targets, partners for joint ventures, and investors for capital raising.
• Build comprehensive financial models to evaluate the quantitative impact of various strategic scenarios and growth opportunities. Perform detailed valuation analysis using multiple methodologies, including discounted cash flow, comparable companies, precedent transactions, and sum-of-the-parts.
• Develop executive-level presentations and strategic analyses using PowerPoint and other tools to facilitate discussions on critical strategic topics with senior leadership.
• Serve as a strategic partner to leaders across various business segments, providing analytical support and guidance on key topics such as product development strategies, market entry initiatives, competitive positioning, operational improvements, and customer opportunity capture.
• Support the end-to-end corporate development process, including preparing deal materials such as pitch books, teasers, and management presentations. Coordinate due diligence efforts by collaborating with internal and external partners, reviewing financial and operational data, and identifying both risks and opportunities. Assist with post-merger integration activities and ongoing performance tracking of completed deals.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Possess a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
• Experience: At least 3 years of professional experience in corporate development, investment banking, private equity, or management consulting.
• Skills: Demonstrated proficiency in financial modeling, valuation analysis across various methodologies, conducting comprehensive market research, developing executive-level presentations, and supporting due diligence processes.
• Bonus: A Bachelor’s degree specifically in finance, accounting, or economics is preferred.
