M&A Corporate Development Associate | Farther
The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Farther. The company is a rapidly growing Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) that expertly combines financial advisors with advanced technology to deliver comprehensive wealth management. This role is crucial for expanding Farther’s business strategy beyond advisor recruitment, focusing specifically on practice acquisitions within the RIA space. The M&A Corporate Development Associate will drive the acquisition strategy by evaluating and executing opportunities with retiring advisors and RIA firms.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Support the entire M&A lifecycle: Support end-to-end M&A processes across target identification, due diligence, deal execution, and integration.
• Develop acquisition strategies: Assist in developing and refining Farther’s acquisition go-to-market strategy by working with internal teams and external sourcing partners.
• Perform financial analysis: Build and maintain financial models, valuation analyses, and committee memoranda to support investment decisions and conduct thorough due diligence.
• Support deal structuring and integration: Help structure and negotiate deal terms under the guidance of senior leadership, and support post-merger integration efforts across various internal teams.
• Build industry relationships: Contribute to building Farther’s industry presence by engaging with prospective sellers and RIA networks.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Candidates should have at least 2 years of relevant experience, ideally within investment banking, corporate development, or private equity, coupled with a solid understanding of fundamental finance principles and the intricacies of deal construction.
• Experience: A proven track record in successfully executing M&A transactions is essential, demonstrating practical application of acquisition processes.
• Skills: Required skills include strong financial modeling and valuation capabilities, excellence in relationship building and stakeholder management, and the proven capacity to communicate persuasively and discuss financial economics with potential sellers.
• Bonus: Previous experience at an RIA aggregator or direct involvement with succession planning for financial advisors is preferred. Experience with post-merger integration or at least one year in the fintech industry would also be valuable.
