Corporate Credit Associate | BNP Paribas
The Tone:
This is a full-time role at BNP Paribas, located in Chile (Metropolitan). BNP Paribas operates as a global financial services firm with a strong Corporate and Institutional Banking (CIB) presence in Latin America, focusing on long-standing client relationships. This role is crucial for safeguarding the bank’s financial stability by rigorously assessing and monitoring the credit quality of corporate clients, enabling informed decision-making by Credit Committees. The Associate serves as a central liaison, ensuring an efficient and compliant credit process for the Chile & Peru platform.
The TL;DR
• Role: Full Time
• Location: In-person, Chile (Metropolitan)
• Team: Corporate Credit Management (“CCM”) Chile & Peru, a transversal team supporting approximately 30 Corporate Clients.
• Mission: Safeguard the Bank’s credit exposure by independently analyzing and monitoring the credit quality of an assigned portfolio of corporate clients and prospects.
• Tech Stack: CRF, MCA, Word, Excel
What You’ll Actually Do
• Credit Portfolio Management: Manage and monitor the credit quality of an assigned portfolio of corporate clients and prospects through periodic review of financial statements, compliance reports, and market intelligence.
• Financial Analysis & Reporting: Perform comprehensive credit analysis and prepare high-quality credit memoranda for new transactions, annual reviews, renewals, and waiver requests, while maintaining relevant portfolio tracking reports.
• Credit Process Coordination: Serve as the central liaison, coordinating the end-to-end credit process among Coverage, Risk, and Product teams to ensure efficient turnaround and adherence to deadlines.
• Risk Identification & Mitigation: Evaluate clients and transactions for risk-related changes, anticipate potential credit issues, and alert local management on all pertinent hot topics.
• Team Mentorship: Coach and serve as a primary resource for more junior analysts within the team, contributing sector knowledge to the broader credit risk community.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Degree in Finance, Economics, or Business Administration, coupled with solid knowledge of financial statement analysis and fundamental corporate credit analysis.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of professional experience, including 2-3 years specifically in corporate credit analysis at an International Financial Institution.
• Skills: Strong business writing skills, proficiency in Word and Excel, projection modeling skills, and good knowledge of general banking products, policies, procedures, and methodologies.
• Bonus: Knowledge of Portuguese and/or French.
