Job Description: Corporate Communications Intern (Ignite Internship Program – Summer 2026)

This is an opportunity for current college students to join Selective Insurance’s award-winning Ignite Internship program for the summer of 2026. This is an 11-week, full-time experience based at the corporate office in Branchville, NJ. It is a hybrid position, requiring applicants to be within commuting distance.

The Ignite Internship Program offers an immersive introduction to the insurance industry. Interns will develop skills and knowledge within their chosen business area through on-the-job assignments, team projects, exposure to senior leadership and executives, and a community volunteer day, all designed to foster meaningful professional relationships.

Selective is seeking a motivated and creative Corporate Communications Intern. This role provides valuable hands-on experience in various aspects of corporate communications, including internal and external communications, community engagement, and content creation.

Responsibilities:

Internal Communications: Assist in coordinating and executing internal communication strategies to enhance employee engagement and information dissemination.
Content Creation: Help develop and edit written and visual content for the company intranet and other internal channels.
Event Support: Aid in planning and executing corporate events, such as town halls, webinars, and community outreach programs.
Research and Analysis: Conduct research on industry trends and best practices to support communication strategies and initiatives.
Project Collaboration: Work closely with the Corporate Communications team on various projects, providing support and contributing ideas.

Qualifications:

Must be a current college student pursuing a degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with social media platforms.
• Creative thinking and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• College credit can be earned depending on institutional requirements.

Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma required.
Ideal candidates will be full-time undergraduate college Juniors or Seniors with the ability to perform at a professional level.

The Pay Range for this position is USD $21.00 – USD $24.00 /Hr. The actual base salary may vary based on geographic location, relevant education, qualifications, experience, skills, performance, and business needs.
