Tax & Accounting Internship | Greystar

The Tone:
This is a temporary, 10-week internship at Greystar, located in Charleston, SC. Greystar is a leading global real estate platform with expertise in property management, investment management, development, and construction services for institutional-quality rental housing. This internship offers hands-on experience in financial reporting, technical accounting, tax compliance, and investor reporting within a large, integrated real estate organization, providing a foundational understanding of corporate finance functions.

• Team: Corporate Accounting & Tax, working with External Reporting & Technical Accounting and Tax teams.
• Mission: To support the financial reporting, technical accounting, tax compliance, and investor reporting functions of a global real estate platform.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office applications

What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Reporting: Assist with quarterly financial reporting and financial statement disclosures.
• Technical Accounting: Support accounting research, technical accounting projects, and reporting processes.
• Tax Compliance: Prepare tax workpapers and documentation supporting tax returns, audits, and REIT compliance.
• Investor Documentation: Assist with investor tax documentation, including Schedule K-1s and related communications.
• Data Management: Maintain and reconcile accounting and tax tracking information.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level position for individuals pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Experience: Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Office applications.
• Skills: Strong attention to detail, organizational abilities, analytical skills, and clear written and verbal communication skills. Candidates should be curious, collaborative, and eager to learn.
