CBS – Financial Reporting Associate | Ernst and Young
The Tone:
This is a 1-year contract role at Ernst and Young, located in Malaysia. EY delivers global professional services, and its Core Business Services (CBS) team supports crucial business enablement functions that keep the organization running effectively. This role is vital for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of financial information by supporting recurring finance processes and ensuring timely completion of reporting and statutory requirements. You will provide reliable financial support across the organization, contributing to sustainable growth and exceptional client service.

• Mission: Support financial accounting, reporting, reconciliation, and compliance to ensure accurate and timely financial information.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft Office applications (Excel), enterprise finance or accounting systems
What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Accounting & Reporting: Prepare and post journal entries for items like accruals and prepayments, support month-end and year-end closing activities, and maintain balance sheet schedules.
• Financial Reconciliation & Cash Flow Management: Prepare bank and account reconciliations, support cash flow forecasting, and review accounts receivable aging while coordinating follow-up on outstanding balances.
• Compliance & Audit Support: Assist in preparing information and schedules for indirect tax, corporate tax, and other statutory requirements, and prepare supporting documentation for internal and external audits.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with finance colleagues, business stakeholders, and external service providers to obtain information, resolve queries, and complete deliverables efficiently.
• Process Improvement & Team Contribution: Identify opportunities to improve the efficiency and accuracy of finance processes, contribute to standardization initiatives, and support other finance activities as needed.
The Must-Haves
• Background: A bachelor’s degree or professional qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Experience: Relevant experience in financial accounting, reporting, general ledger, or finance operations, along with working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
• Skills: Strong attention to detail, good understanding of accounting principles and financial controls, the ability to organize work and meet deadlines, and clear communication skills.
• Bonus: Experience in a shared services, corporate finance, or professional services environment, exposure to month-end closing, balance sheet reconciliations, receivables, tax, or audit support.
