Job Description:
Mitsubishi Power Americas, Inc. in Lake Mary, Florida is seeking a Control Systems Engineering Associate (Internship).
The Associate Engineer of Control System (Intern) will support the design, configuration, and testing of control systems. This includes assisting with project engineering schedule reviews, deliverable submittals, and action items. The intern will also be involved in engineering execution activities such as HMI computer and control system configuration and testing.
Key Responsibilities Include:
• Supporting the team’s project engineering schedule reviews/tracking, deliverable submittals/statuses, and action items.
• Supporting team’s engineering execution activities performing HMI computer, Control System configuration and testing.
• Defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts, and drawing valid conclusions.
• Interpreting technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form.
• Writing reports and procedure manuals.
• Effectively presenting information and responding to questions.
• Performing multi-tasks and multidisciplinary communication.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
• Must be enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree (BS) in Electrical, Computer or Mechanical Engineering from a four-year, ABET accredited college or university.
• Foundational knowledge of control systems and instrumentation.
• Exposure to PLCs, HMI interfaces, or embedded platforms is a plus.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, MATLAB/Simulink, or scripting languages (e.g., Python, C/C++) is desirable.
• Understanding of control logic, system architecture, and signal processing is desirable.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and within a collaborative team setting.
• Organized, analytical, and detail-oriented.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Interest in control systems, automation, energy solutions, and hands-on technical work.
• Desire to contribute to sustainable power generation technology.
• Eagerness to learn, grow, and take initiative in a team environment.
