Financial Modeling Consultant | Deloitte
The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Deloitte, requiring travel based on client needs. Deloitte is a leading global professional services network, and its Strategy & Transactions (S&T) team provides end-to-end advisory services to guide clients through their most critical moments and major transformational initiatives. This role is essential for helping clients navigate complex financial landscapes, make informed strategic decisions, and implement practical solutions that create lasting impact through expert financial modeling and analysis before, during, and after significant projects or transactions.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Client Support: Support clients through their critical decision-making processes across various transactions, strategic business planning efforts, and comprehensive operational assessments.
• Model Development: Develop robust financial models and detailed analyses specifically utilized for major transactions, strategic business planning initiatives, and informed operational decision-making.
• Insight Presentation: Analyze complex model outputs thoroughly and present clear, actionable findings and strategic insights to both clients and other key stakeholders, ensuring clarity and confidence.
• Tool Enhancement: Design and continuously enhance scalable financial modeling tools that effectively support in-depth scenario analysis, precise sensitivity analysis, and comprehensive long-term planning.
• Practice Contribution: Coach junior practitioners within the team, actively contributing to ongoing practice development efforts, including the refinement of financial modeling offerings, internal and external marketing, and critical training initiatives.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or another business field.
• Experience: 2+ years of financial modeling experience; 2+ years of experience in consulting or industry roles supporting financial modeling, strategic planning, and client deliverables; experience developing financial models and analyses for transactions, business planning, or operational decision-making; and experience presenting technical issues and findings to non-technical stakeholders.
• Skills: Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team; effective written and verbal communication skills; meticulous attention to detail and high quality of work product; ability to lead projects or workstreams; ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks effectively within a demanding client service environment; and the ability to provide clear guidance to others.
• Bonus: Progress toward CPA, CFA, or an equivalent credential; experience utilizing tools such as Power BI, Tableau, VBA, Python, SQL, or similar for building finance-led models and analytics.
