The Tone:
This is an intern position at Turner Construction Company, located in Columbus, OH. Turner Construction Company is a leading builder, involved in the development of diverse construction projects. This role provides critical day-to-day supervised support to project teams, allowing interns to build foundational knowledge across construction management, business and project financial management, project safety protocols, subcontractor relationships, quality control, and project coordination and lifecycle. Intern assignments will support learning that applies to earning educational credits where applicable.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Support Project Operations: Coordinate meetings, track materials, manage files and documents, and report progress for the project team.
• Ensure Project Safety: Comprehend and follow project site signage and supervisor instructions, comply with safety protocols, and wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
• Manage Project Documentation: Assist with collecting and reviewing information and approvals for processing shop drawings, submittals, and Requests for Information (RFIs).
• Monitor On-site Progress: Attend project site visits to observe and document construction field activities and provide progress reports to supervisors.
• Facilitate Project Communications: Assist with preparation and distribution of information for contract requirements and communicate with architects, engineers, vendors, and subcontractors as directed.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Enrolled in and actively pursuing an accredited college or university degree program or Co-op program, with recommended majors including Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or other related fields.
• Experience: Completion of at least one year of higher education, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience, and must be 18 years of age to work on a construction site.
• Skills: Professional verbal and written communication skills in English, ability to read and comprehend written information, exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail, and personal and professional accountability.
• Bonus: Demonstrated interpersonal skills, including student leadership, volunteerism, or other community involvement.
