Job Summary: Construction Intern
Kite Realty Group Trust is seeking a highly motivated Construction Intern to join our 2026 Summer Internship Program. This position is based at our Corporate Office in Indianapolis, IN. KRG offers a fast-paced environment that provides valuable hands-on experience, essential for developing the skills needed to succeed in the REIT industry and specifically within the construction function. Interns will assist with a wide range of duties and gain the opportunity to interface with various business departments across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Our dedicated Construction team collaborates closely with the Development and Leasing departments to create designs and estimates for new construction, development, and redevelopment projects. They are responsible for overseeing these projects to ensure adherence to budget, design specifications, and established timelines. The Construction Intern’s duties and responsibilities will include:
- Extensive use of Excel for various estimating tasks.
- Performing crucial administrative tasks, such as processing pay applications, drafting change orders, and documenting meeting minutes.
- Assisting with tenant construction coordination to ensure smooth project execution.
- Preparing and submitting detailed field reports.
- Conducting diverse research tasks, including examining previous construction projects for insights and performing preconstruction field research.
- Contributing to internal reporting processes.
Qualifications
Requirements:
- Currently pursuing a degree in one of the following majors: Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architectural Studies, or Project Management.
- Demonstrated knowledge in both construction and design principles.
- Proficiency in essential software, including Microsoft Project, Microsoft Excel, and Bluebeam.
