Job Summary
Kite Realty Group Trust is actively seeking a highly motivated Construction Intern to join our dynamic 2026 Summer Internship Program. This internship, based at our Corporate Office in Indianapolis, IN, offers an unparalleled opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced environment within the REIT industry. Interns will be instrumental in assisting with a diverse array of duties, providing a comprehensive understanding of the construction function and the broader real estate sector. Key Responsibilities
The Construction team plays a pivotal role, collaborating closely with Development and Leasing to conceptualize designs and generate estimates for new construction, development, and redevelopment projects. They are responsible for overseeing these projects from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to budget, design specifications, and established timelines. As a Construction Intern, your duties and responsibilities will include:
- Utilizing Excel for various estimating tasks, contributing to project cost analysis.
- Performing crucial administrative tasks, including processing pay applications, managing change orders, and drafting meeting minutes.
- Assisting with tenant construction coordination, facilitating smooth project execution.
- Preparing comprehensive field reports, documenting project progress and observations.
- Engaging in research tasks, such as examining historical construction projects and conducting thorough pre-construction field research to inform future endeavors.
- Supporting the team with internal reporting, contributing to project tracking and stakeholder communication.
Qualifications
To be considered for the Construction Intern position, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Currently pursuing a degree in relevant fields such as Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architectural Studies, or Project Management.
- Demonstrated knowledge in construction principles and design concepts.
- Proficiency and practical experience with industry-standard software, including Microsoft Project, Microsoft Excel, and Bluebeam.
