Senior Consultant – Compensation | MFS Investment Management

What You’ll Actually Do
• Program Ownership: Owns and leads complex compensation programs, processes, or functional capabilities such as market data, governance, or annual planning, operating independently within established frameworks.
• Problem Solving: Applies deep compensation knowledge to evaluate issues, identify risks, and develop practical, value-added solutions aligned with MFS’s Compensation Philosophy.
• Analytical Insights: Leverages compensation analytics and external market data to assess competitiveness, internal equity, and program effectiveness, interpreting data to develop insights and recommendations.
• Consultation: Provides senior-level consultation to HR partners, Finance, and business stakeholders on complex compensation matters, including interpretation of guidelines and application of market data.
• Project Leadership: Leads mid-to-large compensation projects, managing scope, timelines, dependencies, and stakeholder engagement, ensuring programs are executed with appropriate controls and documentation.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in a related area. Senior-level professional with expertise in compensation, financial analysis, or closely related analytical disciplines.
• Experience: 6–8+ years of experience in compensation or analytical roles, including providing consultative or center-of-expertise support to influence without direct authority.
• Skills: Strong analytical capability with experience using market data, ability to synthesize complex information into clear recommendations, strong communication, organizational, and stakeholder-management skills, and advanced Excel skills.
• Bonus: Knowledge of compensation regulations, job evaluation, and external benchmarking practices. Experience with compensation and HRIS tools such as Workday or MarketPay.
