The Underline, a 10-mile transformative linear park located underneath Miami’s Metrorail, is seeking a Community Outreach Intern. This is a three-month internship, 20 hours a week, designed for community-minded college students passionate about activating green public spaces.
TITLE: COMMUNITY OUTREACH INTERN
REPORTS TO: MANAGER OF COMMUNITY OUTREACH
POSITION PURPOSE
• Facilitate the implementation of the Community Outreach Plan (strategy)
• Grow the community’s understanding and affinity for The Underline
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Help build a database of The Underline supporters
• Support the growth of our Underline community through strategic initiatives
• Empower community members by supporting volunteer-based initiatives
• Track and file correspondence
• Correspond to community members on behalf of The Underline
• Research potential community partnerships for The Underline
• Work in Blackbaud CRM (customer relationship management) software to sort constituents in a strategic way
• Distribute content to community members and supporters
• Use mail merge tools to reach out to the community with updates and event information

MANDATORY SKILLS:
• Clear and concise communication
• Proofreading
• Organized
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Proficient in Google Suite
PREFERRED SKILLS:
• Background interest in community outreach/development, urban planning, public administration, and public policy
• Familiarity with data input
• Good reading and writing skills (attention to details)
