Job Description:
This is a Community College Internship (CCI) program position at PNNL, encouraging undergraduate students and recent graduates to pursue STEM careers. Selected students will participate as interns at PNNL, performing research under the guidance of laboratory staff scientists or engineers, on projects supporting the DOE mission.
Key aspects of the job include:
• Research: Interns will conduct research on projects aligned with the DOE’s mission under the supervision of PNNL staff.
• STEM Focus: The internship is designed to provide practical experience in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
• DOE Laboratory Experience: Interns will work at a Department of Energy laboratory, gaining exposure to the scientific research environment.
Eligibility Requirements:
• Applicants must apply to a DOE-WDTS website and meet their eligibility requirements.
• A current application in the Workforce Development for Teachers and Scientist (WDTS) system is required.
• Applicants must be a U.S. Citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident at the time of application.
• The position requires successful completion of a Federal Tier 1 background check investigation.
• New employees are required to obtain and maintain a HSPD-12 Personal Identity Verification (PIV) Credential.
Compensation:
• The pay range for the position is $16.66 to $30.00 per hour. The starting pay will be determined based on relevant job-related skills, qualifications, and experience.
