Job Description:
This posting describes an internship opportunity through the Community College Internship (CCI) program at PNNL. The CCI program is designed to encourage undergraduate students and recent graduates to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).
Key aspects of the internship include:
• Research Experience: Selected students will work as interns under the guidance of PNNL staff scientists or engineers on projects that support the DOE mission.
• Eligibility: Applicants must meet specific eligibility requirements established and verified by DOE-WDTS (Workforce Development for Teachers and Scientists). A current application in the WDTS system is required.
• Location: The internship takes place at PNNL, one of the participating DOE laboratories/facilities.
• Citizenship: Applicants must be U.S. Citizens or Lawful Permanent Residents at the time of application.
• Compensation: The pay range is USD $16.66/Hr. to USD $30.00/Hr. Actual placement within this range depends on relevant job-related skills, qualifications, and experience.
• Additional Requirements: New employees must successfully complete and pass a Federal Tier 1 background check investigation, including a declaration of illegal drug activities. There are also specific requirements for foreign national candidates. Potential hires must disclose affiliations with governments of countries DOE deems “countries of risk.”
