Community Based Therapist Internship – Program for Assertive Community Treatment (PACT)

About the Internship:
This is an exceptional opportunity for current Master level students seeking to gain practical, hands-on experience in a dynamic community mental health setting. The internship is specifically designed for students enrolled in their MSW, MA, or MS programs who are passionate about making a difference in the lives of adults with mental health challenges.
Interns will be placed within our Program for Assertive Community Treatment (PACT) in Olympia. PACT is a statewide initiative that rigorously adheres to the nationwide evidence-based model of Assertive Community Treatment (ACT). This model emphasizes proactive, community-based support to individuals with severe mental illnesses.
Key Responsibilities and Experience Gained:
- Work directly with a diverse adult population, providing essential mental health support.
- Engage in both in-office and out in the community client interactions, offering a broad spectrum of experience.
- Conduct outpatient mental health appointments with clients, utilizing both in-person and telehealth modalities.
- Gain invaluable practical experience in applying various Evidence-Based Practices (EBPs) in client care.
- Participate actively in staffing cases, contributing to comprehensive treatment planning and client progress discussions.
- Develop proficiency in navigating and utilizing electronic health records (EHRs), a critical skill in modern healthcare.
Supervision and Professional Development:
- Interns will receive consistent weekly individual supervision from experienced licensed professionals.
- Benefit from comprehensive bi-weekly group supervision sessions, fostering a collaborative learning environment.
- Supervision will be provided by highly qualified and licensed professionals including LMHCs, LICSWs, and LMFTs, ensuring high-quality guidance and mentorship.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Please note: This is an unpaid internship, designed for educational and experiential learning.
- Behavioral Health Resources (BHR) will cover all required credentialing expenditures associated with the internship.
- Interns will be reimbursed for mileage incurred during community-based client visits and other official duties.
