Communications Intern | Groundwork Collaborative
The Tone:
This is a paid Communications internship position for Fall 2026 (September – December) at Groundwork Collaborative, located in Washington D.C. Groundwork is a strategic communications, think tank, and issue advocacy organization committed to fighting for progressive economic policy and narrative change that centers people and builds a stronger, more resilient economy. The organization works across media, policymakers, experts, and grasstops leaders to advance an inclusive economic worldview. This role offers hands-on experience supporting a high-impact Communications team in driving this crucial narrative and policy change.
The TL;DR

• Pay: $22 hourly
• Team: Supports the Communications team, reports to Senior Advisor for Economic Policy
• Mission: Support the communications team to advance progressive economic policies and narrative change by providing research, material preparation, and administrative assistance.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Research: Conduct background research on relevant issue areas for the communications team.
• Materials Preparation: Prepare and disseminate periodic press releases and other external facing materials.
• Administrative Support: Provide administrative support to the team, including attending events.
• Catalog Maintenance: Maintain catalogs of communications team materials.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level. Current student enrolled at a two- or four-year university studying communications, journalism, political science, economics, or a related field.
• Experience: Strong writing skills with experience writing for an array of audiences, including blog posts, campus newsletters, or other communications materials through coursework or professional experiences.
• Skills: Strong writing abilities, capacity to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines, exceptional attention to detail in editing and proofreading, and a commitment to a just, inclusive, and resilient economy.
• Bonus: Experience drafting content for social media channels.
