Job Description

Title: Communications Intern
Employer: KBR (specifically KBR’s Mission Technology Solutions team)
Location: Houston, Texas (downtown KBR office)
Session: Summer 2025 intern session
Schedule: The intern will work 3 days per week. This includes working in the KBR office in downtown Houston on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, with one additional day worked remotely.

KBR’s Intern Program Goal: The program aims to provide interns with broad exposure to KBR’s Mission Technology business. This is achieved through weekly rotations with various communications and marketing professionals across all business units. The communications intern will also collaborate on special projects with the marketing intern.

Responsibilities: The Communications Intern will be responsible for a range of tasks, including:
• Performing communications research and coordination.
• Supporting creative and communications teams in the planning and execution of various marketing deliverables, such as digital brochures, social media content, press releases, internal communication pieces, videos, and advertisements.
• Developing content for a wide array of marketing and communications materials.
• Contributing creative ideas for communications and marketing pieces and overall strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives and brand guidelines.
• Assisting with the planning for upcoming media days.
• Writing, editing, and formatting KBR’s internal communications.
• Developing ideas for social media content.
• Assisting with writing press releases, digital brochures, and other external deliverables.

Qualifications: To be considered for this role, applicants must meet the following criteria:
• Possess strong writing and content development skills.
• Be able to work on multiple deliverables simultaneously while effectively collaborating across all business units.
• Be proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word and Teams.
• Experience with communications/content development platforms is preferred, with specific mention of Staffbase and Foleon.
• Have communications, marketing, or related experience, or relevant coursework in these fields.
