Job Description: Communications Intern

The Communications Intern will work within the Communications Department, contributing to the vital task of communicating the Studio Museum’s mission and offerings to stakeholders, the press, and diverse audiences. This internship provides hands-on experience in:

• Institutional Voice and Strategy: Learning about developing and implementing effective communication strategies.
• Media Relations: Gaining practical experience in media relations best practices.
• Content Creation: Assisting in drafting compelling copy for administrative communications, program announcements, and exhibition materials.
• Administrative Support: Maintaining organized records and performing administrative tasks to support the department.
• Digital Marketing: Utilizing social media and online email marketing tools.
• Design Software: Working with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop) and Microsoft 365.

Qualifications:

• Excellent writing and communication skills are essential.
• A high level of attention to detail and strong organizational abilities are required.
• The ability to work independently is crucial.
• Familiarity with social media and online email marketing tools is necessary.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop) and Microsoft 365 is mandatory.
• Applicants should be mature undergraduate students, graduate students, or recent graduates interested in careers in arts communications, media studies, social marketing, design, or related fields.
