Commercial Operations Manager | Oldcastle APG

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Oldcastle APG, located in Lebanon, TN. Oldcastle APG, a CRH company, is the leading provider of innovative outdoor living products and utility infrastructure solutions across North America, including precast concrete, polymer concrete, and plastic infrastructure products. This role is critical in leading a customer-focused commercial team to deliver exceptional customer experience throughout the estimating, order fulfillment, and project execution processes. By driving operational excellence and fostering collaboration, this manager ensures customer expectations are exceeded while supporting broader business objectives.

• Mission: Lead a customer-focused commercial team that delivers exceptional customer experience throughout the estimating, order fulfillment, and project execution process.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook), CRM software

What You’ll Actually Do
• Team Leadership: Build and lead distinct teams of estimators, customer service representatives, and project lead personnel to effectively process orders, service customers, manage risk, and improve internal processes.
• Process Management: Develop, implement, and streamline processes to manage sales orders, forecast shipments monthly, quarterly, and annually, and maintain a long-term schedule across all product lines.
• Order Compliance: Review customer purchase orders to ensure compliance with approved price levels, terms, and cycle commitments before handing off to Project Execution teams.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with other Oldcastle business units, including Sales and Manufacturing, to predict demand, drive asset utilization, proactively manage Cost of Goods Sold, and resolve customer service issues to drive schedule attainment.
• Risk Management: Proactively minimize, respond to, and negotiate customer back charges while managing the change order process to minimize scope creep and ensure overall responsibility for delivering orders on-time and on budget.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent industry experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or construction environment is required.
• Experience: 5+ years of sales and/or operations management experience, along with demonstrated ability to read and understand blueprints and contracts.
• Skills: Strong business and financial acumen, excellent communication skills for relating across multiple levels with contractors, engineers, subs, and government officials, and proficiency in Microsoft Office programs and CRM software.
• Bonus: MBA preferred, Process improvement or lean manufacturing certification.
