Job Title: Graduate-Level Summer Intern – Commercial Management (Business & Financial Analysis)
This is a full-time graduate-level summer internship position designed for individuals eager to gain practical experience in business and financial analysis within a dynamic airport environment. You will play a crucial role in assisting the Commercial Management staff to evaluate new non-airline revenue opportunities and deepen the understanding and forecasting of existing revenue-producing activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Model Development & Analysis: Collaborate closely with Commercial Management staff to develop and refine financial analyses for various business opportunities.
- Analytical Support: Provide essential support to the Senior Analyst on revenue activity projects, including conducting trend and causal analyses to identify key insights.
- Market Research: Conduct in-depth market research into both new and existing revenue-producing opportunities. This includes industry analysis, identification of market trends, and engagement with airport partners.
- Business Development Support: Offer miscellaneous business development support and undertake other assigned tasks to contribute to the team’s objectives.
Who We Are Looking For:
- Educational Background:
- Currently enrolled in a Master’s degree program, OR
- A recent graduate (within the last 1 year) of a Master’s degree program in fields such as Business, Finance, International Trade, Math, Economics, Statistics, Engineering, or a closely related discipline.

- Technical Proficiency: Proficient working knowledge of MS Office, with particular strength in spreadsheet development and analysis using MS Excel.
- Communication Skills: Possess strong verbal and written communication abilities, enabling clear and effective interaction with colleagues and stakeholders.
- Organizational & Proactive Nature: Capable of managing multiple tasks, effectively prioritizing, organizing, and completing projects under time constraints. You are a self-motivated learner, willing to experiment to solve problems, and demonstrate a keen interest in quantitative analysis.
- Analytical Experience: Proven work experience or academic coursework demonstrating successful application of quantitative analysis techniques such as cost-benefit analysis, forecasting, and project justification. A good working knowledge of analysis, reporting, and presentation techniques, as well as basic financial principles like Net Present Value (NPV), is required.
- Desired Skills: An understanding of business planning and business development concepts is highly desirable.
What Else You Need to Know:
- Work Schedule: This is a summer intern position, expected to last for approximately three to five (3-5) months. Normal work hours are typically Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (40 hours per week). Slightly flexible start and end times may be available.
- Work Environment: Primarily an office environment. Telework options may be available with manager approval.
- Limited Duration: This is a temporary, limited-duration position, not exceeding five months.
- Security Requirements: Successful candidates must pass a Transportation Security Administration (TSA) background check and a criminal history background check with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). Employment is contingent upon obtaining a Port of Seattle ID badge upon clearance.
- Washington State Residency Requirement: Employees must establish residence in Washington state within 30 days of their first day of employment and maintain it throughout their employment. Telework, if permitted, must be performed within Washington State.

Salary:
Minimum: $30.30/hour
Maximum: $32.30/hour
