Associate – Senior Auditor | JPMorgan Chase
The Tone:
This is a full-time role at JPMorgan Chase, located in Mumbai, India. The JPMorgan Chase Audit Department is accountable for assessing the adequacy of control environments across the Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB) businesses. This role is essential for ensuring the integrity of financial statements, compliance with diverse external and regulatory reporting requirements, and accuracy of capital planning and liquidity reporting, thereby safeguarding the firm’s financial health and regulatory standing.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Conduct comprehensive audit activities from risk assessments and planning to testing, issue drafting, and verification of closure, ensuring assignments are completed within budget.
• Collaborate closely with global Audit colleagues to identify emerging control issues and report them promptly to Audit management and business stakeholders.
• Develop recommendations to strengthen internal controls and improve operational efficiency across CIB Finance processes.
• Identify risks and prioritize audit work as part of a risk-based audit program in close partnership with the wider Audit team.
• Cultivate and maintain strong working relationships with business management and other control groups while consistently upholding audit independence.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree, with 5+ years of experience in internal audit, or a combination of external audit, operational risk, or relevant business experience, focusing on corporate investment banking.
• Experience: Proven experience applying internal audit methodology in audit delivery and execution, demonstrating a solid understanding of internal control concepts.
• Skills: Strong communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills to establish credibility and build partnerships; advanced analytical skills for assessing internal control weaknesses; and a strong understanding of financial risks and controls.
• Bonus: Chartered Accountant or equivalent qualification; prior experience with a Big 4 accounting firm or internal audit department within the financial services industry; exposure to capital planning (CCAR/ICAAP), broker-dealer, bank regulatory reporting, or Treasury/liquidity reporting processes; experience utilizing data analytics, Alteryx, and advanced Excel functionality.
