What You’ll Actually Do
• Instruct: Deliver personalized, one-on-one online tutoring sessions to individual students.
• Support: Accept on-demand tutoring requests whenever available to provide instant academic assistance.
• Facilitate: Leverage the AI-powered Tutor Copilot for real-time instructional support, lesson generation, and engaging features.
• Manage: Invoice for completed tutoring sessions, with all payment logistics handled by Varsity Tutors.
• Adapt: Adjust teaching methods and content to meet the diverse learning needs and styles of adult learners and students with varying mathematical backgrounds.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Deep knowledge of college-level algebra, functions, graphs, trigonometric concepts, introductory statistics, finite mathematics, linear programming, mathematical modeling, quantitative reasoning, set theory, logic, and probability.
• Experience: Skilled at breaking down complex function analysis, statistical inference basics, and mathematical modeling problems, along with guiding students through interpreting data sets and constructing logical arguments.
• Skills: Conceptual teaching, effective problem-solving, curriculum awareness for college math and quantitative reasoning courses, adaptive instruction, strong communication, and an engaging teaching style focused on quantitative literacy over rote memorization.
