  • Advanced Subject Mastery:
    • Deep knowledge of college-level algebra, functions and graphs, trigonometric concepts, introductory statistics, finite mathematics, linear programming, and mathematical modeling.

    • Familiarity with college math curricula, including liberal arts math and quantitative reasoning courses.
    • Understanding of common student challenges such as function notation, basic probability, and interpreting statistical graphs.
    • Ability to adapt instruction using real-world contexts, technology tools, and scaffolded problem sets to support adult learners and students with varying mathematical backgrounds.
  • Effective Teaching Methods:
    • Ability to identify concepts students commonly struggle with.
    • Capability to explain material using multiple approaches.
    • Aptness for adapting instruction to meet individual learning needs and styles.
    • Strong communication skills and a friendly, engaging teaching style.
    • Ability to adapt to different learning styles and student needs.
