This is a co-op engineer opportunity at Altec Industries, Inc., located in Elizabethtown, KY. The TL;DR
• Role: Internship
• Location: Elizabethtown, KY
• Team: Focus Factory engineering team
• Mission: This person solves short- and long-term production issues and contributes to innovative custom product design.
• Tech Stack: SolidWorks (or equivalent 3D design software)

What You’ll Actually Do
• Assignments: Work with an Engineer to perform engineering assignments including research, testing, design, and/or development.
• Problem-Solving: Develop problem-solving skills to address short- and long-term production issues.
• Design: Assist in the design application of projects where creativity and/or innovation are required.
• Solutions: Apply engineering procedures and calculations to develop solutions to various problems.
• Improvement: Support and participate in Continuous Improvement events and activities, implementing Lean principles throughout the facility.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Pursuing an undergraduate degree in Engineering (excludes Technology degrees) and must have completed a minimum of 24 hours of coursework, or earned Sophomore class standing.
• Experience: No prior experience required; prior interaction with an Altec team at a recruitment event or past intern/co-op experience with Altec is highly preferred.
• Skills: Knowledge of SolidWorks (or equivalent 3D design software) is required, along with strong design skills, problem-solving, and mechanical troubleshooting aptitude.
• Bonus: Must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale; preferred majors include Mechanical, Industrial, Agricultural/BioSystems, or Aerospace Engineering.
