Job Description:

CMTA offers a co-op program for students pursuing degrees in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Architectural Engineering. This program provides an immersive experience in the consulting engineering world, building industry-competitive skills in a hands-on environment. Co-ops work on teams, are trained by Professional Engineers in AutoCAD and Revit, and create real construction drawings for CMTA projects.

This is a full-time (40 hours/week), onsite position in Framingham, MA, starting around August 2025 and lasting through December 2025 (dates flexible). The position offers a competitive hourly pay rate and eligibility for overtime pay. CMTA hopes to have students complete multiple co-op rotations with potential for full-time employment after graduation.

The co-op position provides hands-on training in mechanical/HVAC/Energy design. Students will learn how to design and implement mechanical systems and energy-efficient measures in building projects.

Job Functions (may include but are not limited to):

• Produce detailed layout and equipment details of HVAC systems.
• Produce one-line diagrams/schematics.
• Assist the design team in assembling organized sets of drawings.
• Assist in data collection and/or field verification.
• Work with designers and engineers to develop all aspects of a project.

Requirements:

• Pursuing a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering (sophomore or junior preferred).
• Strong interest in Building Systems Mechanical Engineering.
• AutoCAD and REVIT experience preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Ability to work both independently and with a team.
• Ability to work full-time in the Framingham, MA office during the co-op term.
• Ability to travel locally for job site inspections, field work, etc.
