Job Description

About the Clinical Internship Program

The Clinical Internship Program at Casa Counseling/Consejeria offers comprehensive training and clinical supervision to graduate students pursuing master’s level degrees in social work or marriage family therapy. This program supports both MFT trainees and MSW student interns enrolled in accredited professional graduate schools.

Casa Counseling/Consejeria is dedicated to equipping interns with a strong foundation in evidence-based practices. Our objective is to provide a rich theoretical and experiential base that will serve as the bedrock for their future professional careers in mental health and social services. Upon completion of the program, interns will possess the knowledge and skills necessary to competently navigate the mental health system. Clinical Interns will be fully integrated into our interdisciplinary clinical team, fostering an environment of mutual enrichment through the exchange of ideas and collaborative work.

We are committed to the continuous professional development of our clinical staff. Monthly training sessions are provided to broaden their knowledge and enhance their skills, ultimately improving their ability to serve clients effectively. These trainings include in-house presentations on intervention strategies, best practices, and other relevant topics. Additionally, we facilitate outside presentations featuring local law enforcement, attorneys, and community partners.

Casa Counseling/Consejeria, a division of Casa de la Familia, operates a Mental Health Community Clinic that offers a low-cost therapy program. This initiative ensures access to counseling services for many individuals and families, with fees adjusted according to family income. Interns will gain valuable experience providing individual, family, and group therapy, while also coordinating care within a multidisciplinary team to ensure excellent patient outcomes. Practicum students will also learn to assess clinical crises and apply essential risk management techniques.
