Job Description:
The Climbing Arborist Trainee position, based in San Francisco, CA, is a full-time, permanent role focused on learning and performing all aspects of tree pruning and removal services. You will be working on-site as a part of a tree crew, and progressively develop new skills. The role involves both practical tree care tasks and comprehensive training.
Key responsibilities include:
• Learning to climb trees and perform all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully.
• Operating as a member of a tree crew, progressively learning new skills.
• Learning tree identification and industry pruning guidelines.
• Pruning, thinning, and removing deadwood throughout the tree canopy.
• Learning to install cables, bracing, and lightning protection systems.
• Assisting in the removal of hazardous trees.
• Properly maintaining, preparing, and operating all tools and equipment, including chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts.
