Our Utilities division is a talented team of experts providing vital solutions to energize our future. We offer full-service electrical, civil, and structural engineering services to support electric and gas utilities nationwide. We also support wind farms and renewables, transmission systems, and university and industrial facilities.

Who You Are

• You are currently studying civil engineering with a focus on structural.
• Enrolled in an ABET-accredited bachelor’s degree program.
• At least a Junior or more advanced in your curriculum.
• Have completed a surveying course.
• Passionate about your studies and boast a GPA of 3.0 or above.
• An eager student looking to gain hands-on experience in an office environment.
• Highly-motivated to apply classroom knowledge to real-world client solutions.
• Prior internship experience is a plus, but not required.
• A people person: friendly, with a sense of humor, and value connecting with colleagues.
• Proficient with business and engineering applications, specifically AutoCAD. Knowledge of RISA 3D and Revit will make you stand out.

What You’ll Do

• Apply your learning: Utilize standard engineering practices and techniques to prepare sketches, technical comparisons, and calculations for reinforced concrete beam and slab design.
• Perform plan and detail drafting using CAD software.
• Gain well-rounded experience: Work from our Lisle, IL office on diverse projects.
• Be mentored by experts to enhance your classroom curriculum.
• Take on significant responsibility, learning by doing.
• Assist with field surveys and prepare improvement plans, specifications, supporting documents, and permit applications for private and public work projects.
• Enjoy your work: Collaborate with great people, learn, grow, and have a good time.
