Job Description (Internship Program)

C&S Companies offers an Internship Program designed to provide college students with hands-on experience, allowing them to apply their technical studies and gain insight into the Architecture/Engineering (A/E) industry. Interns are assigned meaningful projects that complement their academic work, aiming to facilitate a smooth transition from student to professional life.

Position Responsibilities

• Perform routine aspects of civil engineering and construction management under close supervision, requiring the application of principles learned in their course of study.
• May utilize computer-assisted engineering software and equipment to complete assigned tasks.
• Collect and prepare data for evaluation purposes.
• Assist in coordinating projects from the initial design phase through to construction completion.
• Provide support to staff members as needed.

Minimum Education & Experience Required

• Must have successfully completed the freshman year of a degree program in either Civil Engineering or Construction Management.

Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

• A strong desire to pursue a career in civil engineering or construction management.
• Possession of solid analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving skills.
• Resourceful and self-motivated work ethic.
• Solid organizational skills, with a keen focus on details.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience with AutoCAD is preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively and thrive within a team environment.
• Ability to effectively interact and communicate with all levels of personnel and management.
Previous internship experience and/or active involvement in related professional student associations are a plus.

Estimated Compensation Range And Benefits

• The estimated compensation for this position is $17.00 – $23.00/hr.
• Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as related work experience, geographical location and market conditions, education/training, certifications, other credentials, and applicable knowledge and skills.
