Chemist Internship Program | Clean Harbors

• Pay: $20 hourly
• Mission: Responsible for tasks associated with collecting, handling, segregating, packing, and inspecting chemical waste to maximize efficiency and maintain compliance for a sustainable environment.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Ensure Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes.
• Prepare computer-generated packing lists, labels, and manifests for chemical waste.
• Collect, segregate, and properly package waste chemicals for disposal to maximize efficiency and maintain compliance.
• Execute projects at Clean Harbors customer locations, including Fortune 500 companies, according to federal, state, and local regulations.
• Sample and profile new waste streams or any waste needing analytical testing.
• Attend networking events within the Internship Program and complete a final project presentation.

The Must-Haves
• Background: High School Diploma or equivalent; currently pursuing a bachelor’s or advanced degree in Chemistry, Biology, or Environmental Sciences.
• Experience: Junior or Senior year standing in an applicable degree program.
• Skills: Strong commitment to safety, reliability, and a team-oriented approach.
• Bonus: Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation.
