Job Description:

Brookings is seeking a dynamic and motivated Central Accounting Team Intern for a series of projects aimed at optimizing their educational tools and resources. This is a hybrid opportunity requiring in-person presence at their Washington, DC office, combined with the option of remote work. However, work location cannot be in any of the following states Alaska, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maine, Michigan, Oregon, Rhode Island, and Washington. The internship pays $18.00 per hour and requires a commitment of at least 30 hours per week during regular business hours.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the Central Accounting Team on initiatives to improve educational tools and resource efficiency.
• Assist in developing reports, checklists, and tracking tools to monitor deliverables and deadlines.
• Create and update the Accounting manual and job aids to reflect current practices and procedures.
• Work closely with team members to ensure effective communication and coordination across projects.

Qualifications:

• Undergraduate students in their junior or senior year and graduate students pursuing a master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to learning and problem-solving.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Interest or experience in accounting, finance, or process documentation.
• Familiarity with accounting systems or workflow tools is a plus.
