Job Description: CDL Driver

As a CDL Driver, you will travel to various locations along an assigned route, where you will be responsible for the safe packing, transporting, and proper disposal of waste materials in strict accordance with our environmentally responsible policies and procedures. This role requires meticulous record-keeping, the ability to follow instructions diligently, and the capacity to work independently after receiving comprehensive training.

This position requires 4 overnights (Monday-Friday) and some weekend work. You will be provided with a company card to cover hotel expenses and a daily stipend for food and other incidentals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Package and transport waste safely, adhering to all federal, state, and local rules and regulations.
  • Complete all required paperwork in accordance with appropriate regulations and customer policies, practices, and procedures.
  • Load and secure materials and waste, or unload trucks at various customer sites or Clean Earth locations.
  • Prepare and load trucks with necessary supplies for the day’s route.
  • Provide the highest level of customer service to assigned accounts daily, communicating any issues to the Manager or Dispatcher for resolution.
  • Perform a documented pre-trip and post-trip inspection on your assigned truck prior to leaving and at the close of each day.
  • Plan your schedule/route based on customer needs by reviewing daily paperwork (e.g., manifests, route sheets).
  • Follow the routing software’s schedule.
  • Adhere to all DOT guidelines while driving.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • At least 21 years of age
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Ability to understand, read, and write English
  • Able to repeatedly lift and carry up to 75 lbs.
  • Able to stand, bend, and walk for extended periods of time
  • Basic knowledge of Windows-based software (e.g., Word, Excel)
  • Willing and able to wear company-provided personal protective equipment such as eye protection, foot protection, Tyvek coveralls, and a respirator (as needed)
  • Valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with Hazmat endorsement
  • Able to pass a DOT physical, drug test, and DEA background check

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Valid TWIC Card
  • At least 1 year of route driving experience
  • Knowledge of hazardous materials and OSHA regulations
