• Mission: This person ensures customers receive accurate, fast, and courteous checkout service, taking financial responsibility for transactions to maintain customer confidence and loyalty.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Customer Service: Greet, assist, and thank customers promptly and courteously, providing continuous attention to their needs, and escalating any concerns to management with a positive attitude.
• Transaction Management: Accurately record sales using the scanning system, efficiently operate cashiering equipment, recognize all forms of tender, and provide correct change to ensure smooth and efficient transactions.
• Store Operations Support: Manage the service lane according to established standards, inform customers of current specials and promotions, stock front-end products, and efficiently restock supplies to minimize waste.
• Work Area Maintenance: Neatly put away discarded or returned merchandise, return shopping carts, and maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work area free from hazards, reporting any faulty equipment or safety concerns.
• Compliance & Training: Assist in the training of new cashiers on company procedures and service standards, and immediately notify management of any associate theft, customer shoplifting, unauthorized mark-downs, or policy violations.
