Cash Management Specialist | First Chicago Insurance Company

• Mission: This role ensures the smooth and accurate flow of financial operations, providing essential accounting support and maintaining impeccable financial records.
• Tech Stack: Sage, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word
What You’ll Actually Do
• Daily Cash Management: Reconcile daily cash receipts, analyze cash transactions, and update financial records to ensure data integrity and accurate reporting in Sage.
• Payment Processing: Efficiently process payments received via mail, walk-ins, online platforms, agent sweeps, and policy Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) into the billing systems.
• Financial Adjustments: Accurately process premium returns to agents via ACH, along with premium refund checks, claims checks, and voids, recording all necessary Journal Entries in Sage.
• Issue Resolution: Collaborate with the underwriting department to resolve billing-related matters and proactively identify and resolve Non-Sufficient Funds (NSF) issues on recurring payments.
• Record Maintenance & Support: Manage credit card disputes by preparing responses and updating spreadsheets, perform daily closing and reconciliation of all payment batches, and provide support for other accounting projects as needed.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Minimum of a High School education with some accounting experience.
• Experience: Demonstrated experience with accounting systems, specifically Sage.
• Skills: Strong attention to detail, proficient and accurate data entry, effective multitasking, and excellent communication abilities.
• Bonus: An Associate’s degree in Business or Accounting is preferred.
