Capital Solutions Analyst | Scale

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Scale, located in New York City. Scale is a vertically-integrated provider of turnkey advanced microgrid systems, redefining resilience by offering businesses solutions that go beyond traditional backup power. The company combines project design, engineering, and execution expertise with microgrid-as-a-service financing to deliver optimized, ultra-reliable operations and fast time-to-power. This position is crucial for supporting the growth of the origination and capital markets deal team, offering a long-term impact on a private equity-backed growth business.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Modeling: Develop financial models for project acquisitions, portfolios, and new projects to evaluate markets, participants, products, or corporate acquisitions.
• Transaction Management: Assist with managing transactions, including due diligence processes, project documentation, transaction closings, and portfolio management.
• Capital Engagement: Coordinate engagement with financial institutions, investment and commercial banks, tax equity investors, and other capital sources active in renewable energy and electrical infrastructure.
• Internal Collaboration: Partner with internal business development, legal, marketing, engineering, and project analysis teams to evaluate and support opportunities from origination to closing.

The Must-Haves
• Background: A bachelor’s degree in engineering, finance, economics, mathematics, computer science, or another relevant quantitative field of study.
• Experience: 1+ years of experience on investment or corporate banking deal teams within a relevant sector (digital infrastructure, electric power generation & utilities, clean tech, energy transition), or in consulting, or sponsor-side corporate finance and project finance in renewable energy. This includes experience building DCF models in Excel to calculate financial return and risk metrics, and preparing term sheets and presentations.
• Skills: Highly proficient in MS Excel, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint. Possesses an ability to break complex problems into their simplest parts and works effectively in an entrepreneurial environment with time-sensitive deadlines.
• Bonus: Familiarity and working knowledge of tax equity and project finance terms and financial modeling concepts. Demonstrated eagerness to learn about energy and infrastructure (if from an unrelated coverage section). Experience with Google Sheets, Capital IQ, or Python/programming skills.
