2027 Global Capital Markets Summer Intern – Debt Finance Banking | U.S. Bank
The Tone:
This is a paid 10-week summer internship at U.S. Bank, operating on a hybrid model from various U.S. Bank locations. At U.S. Bank, the mission is to help customers and businesses make better and smarter financial decisions, enabling communities to grow and succeed. This internship offers hands-on exposure to the Capital Markets business, providing a strong foundation in financial markets and corporate finance from day one. Interns will work alongside experienced professionals, supporting live transactions and client deliverables, and benefit from structured training, mentorship, and peer development programming. Successful participants may be considered for entry into the full-time Capital Markets Development Program upon graduation, offering a wide range of opportunities to discover what makes them thrive.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Transaction Support: Support the origination, structuring, and execution of capital markets transactions across corporate bonds, loans, structured products, and working capital solutions.
• Client Materials: Assist with preparing client-facing materials such as pitchbooks, lender presentations, and market updates.
• Financial Analysis: Conduct financial and credit analysis, including reviewing financial statements and comparable transactions.
• Market Monitoring: Monitor market conditions and recent transaction activity.
• Team Collaboration: Collaborate with product teams, coverage partners, and analysts throughout the deal lifecycle.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Econometrics, or related fields, with a target graduation of December 2027 or spring 2028. We are looking for creative thinkers who can think on their feet and thoughtfully react to a changing market.
• Experience: Ability to start the internship program in summer 2027.
• Skills: Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills, excellent written and verbal communication, demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and under time pressure, and attention to detail.
• Bonus: GPA of 3.0 or above.
