Business Planning & Analysis Intern | NJM Insurance Group

The Tone:
This is a paid summer internship at NJM Insurance Group, located in West Trenton, New Jersey. NJM is an established insurance group dedicated to serving its communities. This role offers the opportunity for an intern to contribute directly to the company’s financial health by supporting key forecasting and budgeting processes, which are critical for driving efficiency, identifying revenue opportunities, and managing operational expenses effectively.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Support: Assist in the monthly forecasting of financial statements.
• Generate: Produce monthly and quarterly financial reports.
• Prepare: Help in the creation of annual budgets for business leaders.
• Create: Develop ad hoc reports to assist business operations.
• Analyze: Prepare analyses of industry data and trends.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-level internship for current Sophomores or Juniors pursuing a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, mathematics, or a related field.
• Experience: Demonstrated skills in financial planning, analysis, and reporting, ideally from academic coursework or prior projects.
• Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, strong attention to detail, and effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Bonus: An interest in the Property and Casualty Insurance Industry, a high level of intellectual curiosity, a desire to work collaboratively in a team environment, and a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
