Risk Business Manager | Neuberger Berman

The Tone:
This is a full-time hybrid role at Neuberger Berman, located in New York. Neuberger Berman is a leading asset manager in the financial services industry. This pivotal role directly supports the Co-Chief Risk Officers in guiding the Global Risk Group and leading important initiatives. • Team: Global Risk Group, directly supports Co-Chief Risk Officers
• Mission: Ensure the Risk Group meets its day-to-day obligations, supports the Firm’s governance framework, ensures Risk reporting is met, and implements process improvements across the team’s operating model.
• Tech Stack: New system implementations, risk system migrations, dashboard automation, workflow tools

What You’ll Actually Do
• Project Management & Change Initiatives: Manage projects as directed by Co-CROs, including system implementations, audit projects, regulatory requests, and various change management initiatives.
• Governance & Reporting Coordination: Own the team’s governance calendar, coordinate risk committee packs, and ensure board/regulatory reporting deadlines and annual SOC 1 audits are met.
• Process Improvement & Efficiency: Identify inefficiencies in existing workflows, such as reporting production, escalation protocols, and data sourcing, then propose and lead remediation projects.
• Committee Support & Action Tracking: Support the delivery of Risk Group generated Committee materials, and track action items, metrics, key-risk-indicators, follow-ups, and deliverables from risk committees to closure.
• Documentation & Communication Management: Own the Risk team’s written materials and collateral documentation, including RFP responses, marketing decks, and audit report descriptions, serving as a key point of contact for functional partners.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field, with a focus on business management, project/program management, risk, or operations.
• Experience: More than 5 years of related experience, ideally with a mix of business management, project/program management, risk, or operations, with a preference for supporting a global, multi-location team across time zones.
• Skills: Strong written and verbal communication, ability to develop working relationships with stakeholders and build consensus, project management discipline to scope and track initiatives, and an intellectually curious and highly organized approach to work.
• Bonus: An advanced degree or relevant professional certifications, interest in Risk Management, asset management or broader financial services (direct investment risk/business risk experience a plus), and prior exposure to risk governance frameworks.
