Job Description
This is an internship opportunity within Berkley Aspire’s Business Intelligence department, providing significant exposure to the E&S (Excess & Surplus) market and the broader insurance industry. The intern will gain knowledge of insurance and underwriting basics while collaborating with skilled teams.
The role is located in Berkley Aspire’s West Chester, OH office, and the company is specifically seeking local candidates for this position.
Responsibilities:
• Shadow the business intelligence team and provide assistance with underwriting tasks as assigned.
• Lead and actively participate in projects that contribute to various departmental goals and objectives.
• Create, analyze, and interpret data utilizing diverse systems and resources.
• Maintain strict confidentiality with discretion and integrity regarding both internal and external information.
• Project a professional company image through all internal and external customer interactions.
Qualifications:
• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree or higher from a 4-year accredited university.
• Academic focus in insurance, actuarial science, or other business-related coursework.
• A minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• A demonstrated interest in pursuing a career within the insurance industry.
• Ability to demonstrate strong writing and research skills.
• Possess qualities such as self-motivation, analytical thinking, strong relationship-building abilities, and a solid work ethic.
• Possess basic computer knowledge, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
