Business Informatics Intern | Elevance Health
The Tone:
This is a full-time, 12-week internship program at Elevance Health, located in Indianapolis, IN, running from May 18th, 2026, to August 7th, 2026. Elevance Health is a Fortune 25 health company dedicated to improving lives and communities by making healthcare simpler and more accessible for its members. This Business Informatics Intern role provides essential support to the Business Information Systems team, focusing on critical financial applications and enterprise business solutions that are crucial for driving key Finance operations. The intern will play a pivotal part in bridging the gap between Finance and Technology, aiming to significantly enhance accuracy, efficiency, and compliance within core financial functions at a large enterprise.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Analyze: Analyze existing business processes to identify specific opportunities and propose automation solutions that effectively improve operational efficiency and strengthen control effectiveness within financial functions.
• Build Knowledge: Develop a foundational understanding of financial products, internal business models, and enterprise-wide data systems to provide robust support for various automation initiatives.
• Collaborate: Engage in cross-functional collaboration with both business partners and technical areas across the organization to deliver new or significantly enhanced processes and system capabilities.
• Design and Implement: Design and implement practical process automation solutions while simultaneously strengthening relevant governance and control frameworks to ensure compliance and reliability.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Actively pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Business Informatics, Computer Science, Managed Information Systems, or a closely related degree program at an accredited college or university. This role is intended for an early career professional eager to apply academic knowledge in a corporate setting.
• Experience: Ability to commit to working 40 hours per week for the entire 12-week duration of the internship program, specifically from May 18th, 2026, to August 7th, 2026. Candidates should demonstrate familiarity with core Microsoft Office Products, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Skills: Possesses strong analytical thinking capabilities and a sense of ownership, coupled with the ability to thrive and contribute effectively in a collaborative team environment. Exhibits excellent communication skills, both written and oral, which are crucial for interacting with business partners and technical teams. Demonstrates excellent public speaking and presentation skills. Is a self-motivated, technology-driven individual passionate about advancing automation initiatives and improving complex business processes.
• Bonus: Experience working with specific technical tools such as SQL, APIs, Oracle, and various database software. Prior experience or familiarity with automation concepts and artificial intelligence (AI) is also preferred.
