Business Development Representative | EdSights
The Tone:
This is a full-time remote role at EdSights. EdSights is dedicated to solving Higher Education’s most challenging problems by utilizing artificial intelligence and text messaging. Through an intelligent AI assistant, the company supports students over SMS, helping them navigate college successfully. As a Business Development Representative, you will be instrumental in identifying and cultivating new business opportunities, playing a critical role in the company’s growth and creating large-scale social impact.

• Mission: This person will generate new business opportunities and secure introductory meetings with prospective customers within an assigned territory.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Prospecting Strategy: Work closely with Partnership Directors to target, map, and develop comprehensive prospecting strategies specifically designed to drive new business opportunities within your assigned territory.
• Outreach Execution: Proactively execute daily prospecting activities through various channels including phone calls, emails, and social media engagement, with the primary goal of setting introductory meetings with prospective customers.
• Messaging & Creativity: Continuously tweak, develop, and strategize effective messaging and positioning, while also conceiving and implementing your own creative strategies, such as email drip campaigns, to build new relationships with prospects.
• Client & Market Insights: Take the initiative to understand each institution’s unique challenges, goals, and existing gaps, leveraging industry knowledge to provide valuable perspective on the unique solutions and value EdSights provides.
• Territory Ownership: Assume full ownership of a designated territory, actively learning about your prospects’ strategic plans and contributing significantly to the ideation and execution of targeted outreach strategies.

• Background: An entrepreneurial, gritty, and intellectually curious individual, bringing a deep passion for sales and business development, and a strong drive to make an impact in the education industry.
• Experience: No specific prior professional experience is required, demonstrating EdSights’ focus on raw talent and potential for growth within the role.
• Skills: Possess a strong desire to consistently meet and exceed measurable performance goals; Exhibit strong written and verbal communication skills essential for effective outreach; Demonstrate unwavering consistency and motivation through both ups and downs, without easily getting discouraged; Showcase excellent time management and organizational skills to manage a demanding prospecting schedule; Display a positive, open, and high-energy approach towards growth and continuous professional development.
• Bonus: Prior knowledge of the Higher Education Industry; 0-2 years of prior sales experience in B2B sales environments.
