Business Development Representative | Escalent

This is an early career role at Escalent, operating in a virtual-first workforce with occasional travel. They provide strategies and advisory services to guide leading brands, accelerating growth by integrating various data types. This role is crucial for achieving ambitious customer acquisition and revenue growth objectives by generating appointments and supporting new business sales.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Lead Generation: Source new sales opportunities through proactive outbound cold calls and emails.
• Value Communication: Effectively communicate Escalent’s value proposition and generate interest in custom research services with prospective clients.
• Sales Operations: Document all sales activity diligently in the CRM system and contribute to monthly and quarterly forecasting tasks.
• Appointment Setting: Qualify leads, share relevant marketing or research content, and secure meetings for industry-specific research experts with potential clients.
• Account Research: Conduct research on new accounts, identify key players, and cultivate interest in Escalent’s offerings.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Must possess a BA/BS degree in business or a marketing-related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
• Experience: Minimum of 1 year of sales or lead generation experience is preferred. Experience using Salesforce.com or a similar CRM system is strongly preferred. Previous experience with telemarketing, cold-calling, lead nurturing, and setting appointments via telephone is preferred.
• Skills: Strong phone presence with a knack for building rapport quickly, excellent verbal and written communication, listening, and interpersonal skills, high attention to detail, highly motivated, organized, and the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
• Bonus: Prior experience selling professional services like market research, data services, or analysis is helpful. Escalent is also willing to train individuals who possess the right behavioral traits for this position.
